What does The Power of Now mean?

Posted on November 13th, 2008 in Notes from the Universe by mentortara

I think most people would say that it is about sacrificing today for a better tomorrow. I look into the future and see myself living the MLM lifestyle. I can drive any car I  want, live in any house I want, travel to anywhere I want to go. But to have that future I have to take action now and taking that action may mean that I sacrifice. Maybe generating those leads is an unpleasant chore. Missing my favorite TV shows may be unpleasant. Having to miss some of my family time may be unpleasant. But do I want the future I have envisioned? I have seen many people here. Most decide against the future of their dreams when they look at things this way. They are not willing to give too much for the uncertain future.

What’s the point of working to create a future of joy and freedom if my present reality is just the opposite?  Why should the journey have to be so bad?

If I want freedom and wealth in the future, I have to seed its creation right here, right now.  The only power I have to create anything is here in the present.

I live in the now. Am I unhappy about my place in life? Chances are that I am right where I should be now based on what I did in the past. Will I love myself more in the future than I do now, once I have success? Will I be happier in the future when I can live my dream lifestyle? Probably not. I don’t think so, do you?

What if I put The Power of Now to work differently?

I love myself for what I am today but I create a plan of self improvement and act on it each and everyday. I will grow into the person I want to be while loving myself now. I control my future based on what I do today, not what I plan to do tomorrow.

I am happy today. Where I find myself today doesn’t matter. Life is a journey, not a destination. I choose to be happy now and enjoy the journey. If I were not having fun building my business, that would be a clue to me that I am not on track. Building my business is fun. I feel happy doing it. It is not a chore. I can watch my business grow and I can continually give more, serve more, and influence more people. It starts with what I can do now. I will grow.

The Power of Now

I live in the now. There used to be all these things I wanted to do when finally I have success. Why wait?

What about you? What is it that you want to do when you reach your destination? Take more time to exercise, learn a foreign language, learn to play a musical instrument, read more good books? Don’t wait. Add things to your now. Your business is your vehicle to take you on your journey. Your journey should be one filled with joy. Build relationships along the way. Relationships for life. Enjoy your growth and the growth of others in your business. Enjoy the simple pleasures.

It’s all about the journey. Living the The Power of Now. Enjoy who you are and what you have today knowing the journey ahead, you realize that it can be even better. It starts with what you do today. Each and every day. It’s the Power of Now.

The only power I have to create anything is now. What we do in this moment, this now, today, is all we control. There is no waiting for tomorrow to get started or to do more, for tomorrow never arrives. We always find ourselves at now. And our only power remains, the The Power of Now.

If you just look at all that already exists in your life, all that you already have: unlimited air to breathe, ample lighting to see, music to hear, books to read, stars to dream by, trees to gaze at, floors to dance on, friends to cavort with, enemies to befriend, strangers to meet, woods to walk through, beaches to comb, rocks to scale, rains to cleanse you, rivers to float you, animals to comfort you, you do have to admit,  there’s more of it than you could ever, ever, ever spend.

But try anyway.

Big shot,

The Universe*******************************************************************************************

Remember when it was really fun, to catch raindrops on your tongue, walk under archways because they were there, and roll around in sand at the beach? To go all the way to a store for a tiny treat, lie on the grass looking for “God” in the clouds, and make scary monster faces in the mirror? To watch the stars because they were winking at you, count the flowers in the garden by the door, and put Cocoa Puffs up your nose?

Well, I’m happy to inform you, most of it still is….

Ah-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-
The Universe******************************************************************************************

Some angels, choose cleverly disguised lives in time and space just to help folks get past judging by appearances.

No, they’re not much to look at, listen to, or dance with, and most would never guess they’re angels… but that’s the point.

Every soul is beautiful,

The Universe*****************************************************************************************

The need to clarify, explain, or justify oneself in personal relationships, is always self-serving.

Hey, that’s OK, I serve you all the time. What’s important, though, is knowing the truth about why you felt the need, because it often points to insecurities that could be dealt with in more effective ways.

Hi-Ho!
The Universe****************************************************************************************

For every word I write, there might be misunderstanding. For every angle I take, a chance that something is missed. And between the days and weeks, for words taken too literally, contradictions will seem to appear.

But I write for the careful student, knowing that others will read the very same words and misunderstand. I write to hold up a light of remembrance for those who choose to remember, knowing there are others who don’t, and that’s just fine by me. There are no losers, no predefined paths, no requirements to understand the mechanics of time and space. Joy remains life’s only inevitable.

But most of all, I write because it’s fun.

Besides, email is practically free.

Tallyho,
