What is Your “Why”?

What is your “Why”?  Most mlms have uplines ask new members to send them their “why”.  It’s usually one of the first things your asked to do once you’ve paid your enrolment fee.

The problem is, the upline usually will accept any answer.  They don’t know themselves the true importance of a solid “Why”.  A lot of times people don’t even send their why to their upline.  They don’t understand how important “Why” is.

So let’s ask that question right now.

Why is your “Why” so important?

Your “Why” is that thing waaaay deep inside your gut, laced through your heart and soul.

It’s that “fire” inside your “internal furnace” that will heat your “steam” that will fuel your “engine” of fortitude.  It has enough drive to fuel your “engine” to push you up and over the highest of hills of tough times up to the level of success you desire and deserve.

Ask yourself right now, “Why?”  Why do I want to own my own business?  Why do I want to work from home?  Why do I want to put in the hours I need to so I can succeed at my business?  Why?

The answers that are usually heard may include,

I want to be my own boss.

I want more money.

I want to get out of debt.

I want to save for my retirement.

I want to buy a house.

I want more stuff.

I completely agree that each and every one of those points.  They are all very important.  But…….  What happens once you achieve those goals?

Does that mean your finished building your business?  That it’s ok to quit working with your downline?  That you don’t need to talk to your customers anymore?  That you no longer need to promote your business?

Your “Why” is never about money.  Money goals can be reached. 

Let’s ask a few questions that could help you nail your “Why”.

  1. If you had all the money you would ever need, what would you do with it?
  2. If you had all the money you would ever need, what would you do with your time?
  3. What gets you excited?
  4. What scares you the most about being broke?
  5. What is your first thought that excites you when you think about “money”?
  6. If you could choose the ideal situation to work in, what would it be?
  7. What do you love about your job?
  8. What do you hate about your job?
  9. What one thing would having more money change in your life today?
  10. What would you do with more time to share with the people you love?

Changing the level of income you know now, to a higher level of income brings more changes than the quality and quantity of groceries in your fridge or the car you drive.

It can also change the people around you.

It’s true.  Money can have a strange effect on people.  It can change the people around you in good ways and in bad.  Your personal and financial growth may cause some people in your life to feel threatened.  They may criticize, and try to make you feel bad about your success instead of enjoying it with you.  They may be too afraid to take the steps to change their own circumstances, like your doing, and try to sabotage you from your goals.

Your” Why” has to be solid if this happens.  It will be your life raft and keep you afloat in stormy seas of change.

You may need to really dig deep inside yourself to find your “Why”.

Ask yourself,

  1. What do you love?
  2. What do you hate?
  3. What changes in your life do you want to see?
  4. What could you do to make a difference?
  5. What is the worse thing that could happen to you?  How can you avoid it?
  6. What drives you to do better?

After you know your “Why”, write it down and keep it near but in a safe place.  It will be there to give you strength when you need it the most.  It will act as your trusty lighthouse beaming its light to give you direction during foggy days when you can’t see clearly.   It will fill you with energy when your feeling drained.  It will be there when you ask yourself “WHY?”

Do You have a Mentor?

Do you have a company with a proven system where your up-line leadership team has a COMPLETE, PROVEN, “turnkey” SYSTEM for sponsoring, training, coaching and mentoring EVERYONE who joins your team?

In this great industry, there are literally tens of thousands of network marketing programs available to choose from. The average Network Marketer can become very overwhelmed and confused with all the choices.

I have heard numerous horror stories of fellow Network Marketers scammed out of there last penny in their bank account with so many programs out there.

It is unbelievable!

When you look at the opportunities and programs , you see the hype of numbers…get the people to join, the more people under you the bigger your pay Check will be. Companies get people to join with them, by offering big promises of big money in a short period of time. After you sign on the dotted line, there is no training/support for you. You are left out to pasture.

Does that sound familiar to you? Yes, I thought so. Does that work? Maybe for the Short Term!

That is why it is incredibly helpful, indeed life changing, when instead of doing it alone, you find someone who can guide you along a more focused path. You need solid Pentacle Leadership for success.

You have to do your due diligence to check out a company before You sign on the dotted line, find out if the company has integrity, find out if the compensation plan pays You or if it just benefits the top guru’s, and find out the business model and the behavior it drives.

Support, training and coaching are necessary ingredients for you to be successful. Someone with amazing insights and knowledge, who has had experience in this industry, someone who will answer Your questions, guide, support and teach you the ins and outs of network marketing.
Find a group of mentors with good intentions who truly believe in you and making a difference, who care about You and how your business is doing, who will not ask for a credit card or your bank information, and who can show you that your lack of success Is Not Your Fault.

One of the beauties of network marketing is that it gives you the opportunity to face your fears, deal with them, overcome them, and let the winner in you WIN.

The beauty of mentoring for free is that the leaders in the organization have the patience to work with you while you are learning.

All the great, successful men in the world had a Mentor and a Mastermind Group. You cannot be successful alone. You want a Mastermind Group of like-minded people who want You to succeed. You want your up line support available when You need it.

Red, Yellow Blue or Green? What’s Your Color?

Everybody has a personality and each persons personality is different to a certain degree. A really long time ago….A greek Physician and Philosopher by the name of Hippocrates wrote about the four basic personality types. Dr. Carl Jung wrote once again in 1921 about the personalities, he called them…”Feeler” “Sensor” “Thinker” and “Intuitive.” Florence Littauer later on called the personalities “Phlegmatic” “Sanguine” “Melancholy” and “Choleric”

Since then there have been many books, reports and research done on the personality types. You can find more detailed study done by Michael O’Connor, Jim Cathcart and Dr. Tony Alessandra to name just a few.

It’s crucial to understand and be able to identify the personality types in the Network Marketing industry and it’s so much fun to use. Once you know the basics and start practicing this simple system you will experience a positive impact on your business as well as your personal life. With practice you will very soon be able to pinpoint the personality type of the person who sent you an email, the person you are speaking with on the phone or the complete stranger walking through the mall ahead of you. When you know the likes and dis-likes of the four personality types it gives you a slight edge and helps you know how to effectively relate and interact with each. You can quickly grab and hold someones complete attention when you can tell them something about themselves that people don’t usually know. An instant bond develops and people don’t easily forget that.

So what’s all this got to do with Red, Yellow Blue or Green? Well…People tend fall asleep when you say words like “Sanguine” or “Choleric” but everybody knows and understands the colors! You can easily learn this simple but greatly effective technique and quickly build a business with people who you understand and have a bond with. The following is a brief description of each color personality type:

RED, (Choleric)Sensor

The red personality type make up 15% of the population and they are Self-Contained and Direct. They are often the CEO of the company, an Attorney, Airline Pilot or in some type of position of authority. They like to order other people around and will not hesitate to fire you on Christmas Eve. The Red’s motto is, “Get out of my Way” and “What, or how much is in it for me?” “My way..or the Highway!”Their voice is forceful with volume and they will take complete control of the conversation. They dress for success, the suit, tie and creases. The red is all about the money! The more the better! They believe that Network Marketing is a “sales” business and they just keep selling, selling and selling! They are 100% NOT coachable. They have big Ego’s and will tell you how to run your business, how to sponsor suzy who they have never met and how to deal with your Mother-in- Law. Reds are well connected and know powerful people and it’s great to have them in your business…just don’t try to coach them. Let them do it themselves, they will anyway so save yourself a headache. Reds are focused and goal-oriented, very intense and will go after the money no matter what it takes! Reds dislike indecision, chit-chat, losing control, and whining.

YELLOW (Phlegmatic)Feeler

The yellows make up 35% of the population and they are Open and Indirect. They are the Nurses, the Teachers or a Counselor of some sort. They give from the heart and never have time for themselves because they are always doing something for someone else. A yellow will spend their last $5 on you. The yellows motto is…”Let’s be Friends” Their voice is soft and gentle and they dress comfortably, casual. They will be the ones wearing the Birkenstocks and the cotton. Yellows are dependable, caring, team players. They are patient, supportive and nurturing. They don’t like to be sold, pushy aggressive sales-people, bullies, or any type of conflict. Yellows have built huge Network Marketing Business’s once they believed that they could do it. They are family oriented and they love to talk about the kids, the vacation. They are genuinely sad that Great Aunt Doris had to go into the Assisted Living Community. Yellows are also Over-Sensitive, Followers and are not very goal Oriented. When you are talking to a yellow, be a yellow. Take the excitement out of your voice and slow down. They see excitement as “Hype” and will tune you out when you start talking about the $10,000 a month.

BLUE ( Sanguine)Intuitive

The Blue makes up 15% of the population and is Open and Direct. They are the Entertainers, Public Speakers, and Sales personnel. Blues want to have Fun FUN FUN!! Their voice is loud and fast and they dress stylishly with a lot of color, flamboyant! Blue people are the most creative, they are the promoters and they are convincing, enthusiastic and always looking for the next fun thing! They have huge energy and see the “Big Picture” instantly. They don’t want to be bored to death with the details or all the facts and figures. Blues are dis-organized, scattered, got 100 things going on at once. They talk to much, they’re poor savers, poor on follow-up and they tend to exaggerate! Get excited when you talk to the blue, talk about the vacation and the family but make it the fun stuff. The blue will give you their life story the first time they meet you. They dislike being alone, not having fun and a lot of facts and figures. To sponsor a blue help them learn to focus and organize.

GREEN (Melancholy) Thinker

The greens make up 35% of the population and they are Self-Contained and Indirect. The greens are the analytical people. They are often the Accountants, Engineers or are in some type of research. They believe that they are the smartest people on the planet and they want all the details! The facts and figures are what turns the green on. They will read every word, click on every link and crunch the numbers once, twice to make sure and a third time just because. Their voice is soft and polite and they dress formal and conservative. They are organized Planners, very accurate and Persistent with great follow through. They are over-analytical, hard to please, often depressed and lonely. They are completely comfortable with charts and graphs and will be exact and perfectly timed. They will know the exact time to the second about when the next full moon will appear. Never be late or miss an appointment with a green, don’t speak to fast or to slow and enunciate all your words correctly. Give them all the information, answer all their questions, be upfront and give them more web-sites to visit. Never push or rush a green, let them figure it all out at their pace and they’ll call you when they have it all analyzed or need more information.

Your Compensation Plan

I wanted to give you insight into figuring out how your MLM company is paying you. These are some general but, Oh So important questions to ask, and get answers to about YOUR money!

Is Your Compensation plan set up for recruiting or retail sales? If Your plan is focused on recruiting you’re just building a paycheck, you’ll get no residual income from recruiting and you’ll never be able to retire….Isn’t that what we’re doing this for? Your plan should be focused on retail sales.

How many people do you need in your organization to make your desired amount of income per month? Ask yourself…How much do you make per distributor? per spot? and divide that into your desired monthly income. That will tell you how many people you need to make that amount of money each month. Then ask yourself….Is this do-able for me? and how long will it take me? You just may be surprised at the answers you get!

How is the money transferred? Does your new distributor send YOU the check, then You take your share and send the rest to the company? Can you only pay with cash? a money order? or a check? If You’re taking the money then, taking your share and sending the rest to the company, who owes who the 1099 tax form at the end of the year? That company is only going to claim the amount of money that they received. If Your company does not accept credit cards ,they have NO merchant account! Why?

What product is your company promoting? If Your company has NO product ,or NO retail sales, then you are in an illegal pyramid scheme. This company will eventually get shut down and all the time, hard work and money that you have invested will be gone forever!

Ask Yourself, would I buy this product with no business opportunity attached to it? Did you know that 72-74% of a downline are product users only! Not everybody wants in on your business!

Have you done a search on Ebay for your companies product? What’s it selling for? If I can go to Ebay and buy your product for $2 a bottle and you’re trying to sell it to me for $19.95, which one do you think I’m going to buy? Also….If there is an over abundance of your companies product for sell on Ebay I would want to know why?

Is your company Publicly Traded? Publicly traded companies have a high overhead, the higher the overhead the less you will be paid! The cost of maintaining the fancy building, the vehicle fleet, and the CEO’s extravagant vacations 4 times a year will continue to rise and the Compensation plan will continue to be adjusted taking money from YOU, the distributor, each and every time.

Does your Compensation plan pay part-timers? This is important because when we first start our business it is often necessary to keep our full time employment until we are established and making money. The only time we have left is “part time” to work on our business. If the Compensation plan is designed to pay part timers then we will be in profit much sooner and able to own our own lives…..Isn’t that what we’re doing this for?

In summary,

People, take a good long look at the compensation plan before you join any company, get the answers to these questions and make an educated decision on if you really want to join this company and if You will ever be able to make any money with it. How to Stop Negative Thoughts…

“How do I stop my negative thoughts?” - is a question that I have been asked many times. If you have ever asked this question then you will feel such enormous relief in knowing the answer, because it is so simple. How do you stop negative thoughts? You plant good thoughts!

When you try to stop negative thoughts, you are focusing on what you don’t want - negative thoughts - and you will attract an abundance of them. They can never disappear if you are focused on them. The “stop” part is irrelevant - the negative thoughts are your focus. It doesn’t matter if you are trying to stop negative thoughts or control them or push them away, the result is the same. Your focus is on negative thoughts, and by the law of attraction you are inviting more of them to you.

The truth is always simple and it is always easy. To stop negative thoughts, just plant good thoughts! Deliberately plant good thoughts! You plant good thoughts by making it a daily practice to appreciate all the things in your day. Appreciate your health, your car, your home, your family, your job, your friends, your surroundings, your meals, your pets, and the magnificent beauty of the day. Compliment, praise, and give thanks to all things. Every time you say “Thank you” it is a good thought! As you plant more and more good thoughts, the negative thoughts will be wiped out. Why? Because your focus is on good thoughts, and what you focus on you attract.

So don’t give any attention to negative thoughts. Don’t worry about them. If any come, make light of them, shrug them off, and let them be your reminder to deliberately think more good thoughts now.

The more good thoughts you can plant in a day, the faster your life will be utterly transformed into all good. If you spend only one day speaking of good things and saying “Thank you” at every single opportunity, you will not believe your tomorrow. Deliberately thinking good thoughts is exactly like planting seeds. As you think good thoughts you are planting good seeds inside you, and the Universe will transform those seeds into a garden of paradise. How will the garden of paradise appear? As your life!
