Social Networking Sites
Social Networking Sites are a great place to make contacts, advertise your product and promote your business. I do agree that there are a lot of people on these sites that are there to promote their product or business as well but, if you will take the time to fill out a nice complete profile that contains information that interests the other users of the site you will very often find people who are frustrated and discouraged with the business that they have been trying to build and having no luck with. If you can take a few minutes to chat with these people and start up a friendship they could very well become your next distributor.
It is important to fill out your profile completely, put something about yourself or your interests in every slot. Post a nice photo ( this adds the personal touch and allows people to see who they are talking to ) Some people will not even click through and read your profile if you do not have a picture posted. This step is the most important. Make your profile look professional, don’t use the flashing banners, the loud music or the ghaphic layouts that are so popular with the children. It is not a good idea to make your profile an advertisement for your business or the products that you have either. Make your profile about YOU! Most Networking Sites have their own blog spaces or a classified ad area where you can advertise your business or place an ad and you can always add your link in the “about me” section. Please don’t use abusive or crude language on your profile, you don’t want to offend anyone and it is very un-professional as well.
Once you have your profile up and you are satisfied with the way it looks start contacting other users of the site. Read their profile and when contacting them make a nice comment about it and use their first name if you can find it. You will get better responses and more of them if you are friendly and personal. If the site will allow you to post other photo’s besides your profile photo then do so. Let everyone see the lifestyle that you live
Most Social Networking Sites have a blog or will allow you to post bulletins. Take advantage of this great opportunity to get your message out there. Post to it at least every 3 to 4 days and send bulletins out regularly. When logging in to your account always check and see if you have any new mail or if there are any new contact requests in your inbox. If so, take the time to answer them and respond. This shows that you are an active user and that you are interested in what the others have to say. You will become very popular in no time!
