Seriously, Would You Jump Off A Cliff For Your Up-Line?
When I was growing up, my up-line was my Mom and Dad. They would throw this catch phrase at me constantly, “Would you jump off a cliff if your friend told you to do it?” I resented that statement. It seemed to imply I hadn’t any sense of my own, which was probably their point; they were trying to get me to think for myself! Ok, Mom, Dad, after all these years I get it.
After joining a few on-line companies, hoping I could duplicate what my new up-line implied I could, I realized I was jumping off a cliff because they told me to. I believed one hundred percent what I was told without even asking any questions; just where do I sign up? What strikes me funny today, although not funny, ha ha, is I did it again and again.
You remember when you were in school and you thought the subject or class you were taking was totally worthless? You’d never in a million years use the information they were cramming down your throat. Guess what? Not only did Mom and Dad’s words come back to haunt me, so did that “worthless” information I learned in school.
When I stopped jumping off the cliff to add up the results of my efforts, I saw I was so in the “red” it burned. How could that have happened? I did everything I was told to do, successfully retailed product, bought leads, listened in on all the calls offered, why wasn’t this adding up for me. Using comprehension and accounting skills I learned long ago, I questioned my up-line.
Do you know there wasn’t anything new they could tell me other than to “go jump off a cliff.” Buy more leads, get on more calls, buy more product until your garage is a mini-warehouse.
All my schooling came flooding back, the quest to investigate and research until I found the answer or solution to the equation of why this wasn’t working for me. I stepped away from the cliff no longer willing to free fall without a parachute, and decided to think for myself.
What I found out was enough to fill a book. I don’t want to write a book at the moment, but I do want to own my own life so if I decide to write I’ll have the time and means to do that.
If your seriously done with jumping off a cliff or want a parachute to avoid the crash and burn, download this Free ebook - you’ll find yourself soaring with the eagles instead!
