Mental Cleanse Chapter 2 - Desire

Hi! Ken Klemm here…

I want to share with you this timely lesson I learned from reading Chapter 2 of “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. Every Wednesday, as part of Mentoring For FREE, our Mastermind group meets to share and discuss our thoughts after reading a chapter of the book.

~~~~~
CHAPTER 2 - DESIRE
The Starting Point Of All Achievement
On Monday we discussed Chapter 2 of Success in Ten
Steps, which is about how to get staying power in
business by nailing my 99.9% WHY - awesome enough to
keep me going through whatever obstacles I encounter.
My WHY has little or nothing to do with money.
Chapter 2 of Think and Grow Rich instructs me to define
the exact amount of money I want to make.
How do I reconcile these two Chapter 2’s?
First, my WHY.
In addition to having the time freedom to enjoy
traveling and doing things with those I love, being the
best man I can be for them,  and leaving behind a
legacy of new generations of life-owning critical
thinkers - I recently discovered what my true passion
in life is.
All my life I’ve wanted to be a teacher, an educator.
When I was a boy scout I enjoyed passing on skills to
the younger guys which they needed to advance.
In junior high school I discovered I also has a passion
for music. So I merged the two passions and decided to
become a music teacher.
I took a course of action which led me to study Music
Education at a major University.
Within a few years I became disillusioned.
I had no stomach for playing school system or teacher
union politics - or participating in the
progressive/socialist indoctrination of young minds
which would lead to the election of the tyrannical
government we enjoy today.
I just wanted to TEACH MUSIC!
I ventured into the world of commerce and learned
customer service skills. I advanced into management
positions where I taught employees the skills I had
learned.
As my children grew, I became involved in their
activities. I attended clinics for coaches so I could
teach them and their friends skills and techniques to
be better ball players.
My local league needed umpires, so I volunteered to be
one. Desiring to be the best I could be, I attended
many umpire clinics.
After I became proficient, I started teaching my own
clinics to pass on the skills to the newer folks.
Now, as I am learning them, I DESIRE to teach people
network marketing skills and how to think critically
for themselves - breaking the chains of self-slavery to
big government, big business, big bull markets, and big
internet gurus.
Mentoring For Free is my vehicle and platform. Cindy
Loewen stated it well when she said “be someone’s
miracle”.
I have already had clients tell me I am “their angel”
or “the answer to their prayers”.
So, I am living some of my WHY.
But what about the money?
I figure money is a tool to enable me to run my
physical plant (me), have the time to pursue my PASSION
- and enjoy the freedom to travel, play and live with
my loved ones, my teachers, my students - TO COME HOME!
Only $5,000 per month additional income will provide me
with the freedom I want. $10,000 per month will give me
twice the freedom - more better.
Building my team and moving beneficial products of my
network marketing company will reward me the income I
desire.
My PASSION and DESIRE are white-hot enough to fuel my
action, to do whatever is necessary, overcome all
set-backs, all criticism, whatever comes my way - to be
a WINNER.
A failure fails only once, whereas a winner fails many
times - and never stops.
Thank You Michael, Linda, Sarah Anne, my Friends, my
Teachers, my Students, for empowering me to BE the
passionate man I was destined to become!
Your Friend and Servant,
Ken Klemm
Networking Power in the Shower! Did Your Business Get Flushed Down The Drain?
Posted on June 28th, 2009 in The 5 Pillars To Success, Personal Development, Recent Posts by Laurie
In my house timing and water pressure goes hand in hand. This is never truer, I’m thinking, as I stand under the shower spray, shampoo running in my eyes because someone flushed elsewhere in the house! It’s bad enough getting five people showered and having hot water for all of us, but to have that pressure turned to a mere drip is maddening! Hugging the trickle of water from above I’ve completely lost my momentum of routine and wait impatiently for the pressure to build back up.
I’ve learned timing and momentum play important roles in my business as well.
I’ve become very creative managing the timing and flow of things in my house as far as the water pressure goes, but this wasn’t always true in my business. In my first few attempts in starting up a home based business I had not yet realized that timing in the industry was as important to my success as was consistent momentum.
In my home, with three teenagers all (luckily) finding good hygiene important, I realized I had to employ a schedule that included routine chores such as laundry, dishwasher and garden spraying. In my business, it wasn’t as easy to discern why the momentum in my business trickled down to almost non-existence. So I started to investigate who or what flushed my business down the drain!It was during my education into this matter that I discovered there’s a similarity here.
It’s all in the timing!
My lack of knowledge was the reason my business went tepid instead of steaming up the windows. Learning to think with a critical mind, and knowing when the best time was to join a business has once again restored my creativity and cleaned up any doubts I had of success.
Who knew there was such Networking Power in the Shower?
If you’ve experienced your business being flushed down the drain, build the pressure back up! Click here now and let’s see if your windows don’t steam up!
The Truth About Money
You’ve heard it takes money to make money?
It’s a myth!
The truth is…it takes LABOR to make money. If you don’t want to do some particular work, you pay someone else to do it for you. That’s what gives money its VALUE.
Michael Dlouhy and Ken Klemm
What would happen if the government just printed up a bunch of cash and gave everybody lots of it, so nobody had to work anymore?
We’d all starve to death…that’s what!
What could you buy with that cash if nobody was producing anything?
No farmers raising and harvesting crops, no textile people making clothes, no manufacturers making stuff, no drivers transporting goods, no storekeepers stocking shelves, etc.
When you purchase a device you’re not actually paying for the material…the material is free and available to anyone.
You are paying for the EFFORT of the people who mined, grew, or synthesized the material, the people who designed and engineered the device, the people who assembled it, transported it, and made it available to you for sale.
We pay others for their effort because we don’t have the time or know-how to do everything ourselves.
THAT’S what gives money its value…the effort of people.
That leads us to the REAL secret of success in business…do you really want to know what it is?
The REAL Secret of Success in Business is………….WORK!
So why do people tell you that you can join this or that program on the internet, click your mouse a few times, and have thousands of dollars flying into your bank account?
Because they are LYING to you! But why would they do that?
Because they want your money. And they are willing to FOOL you to get it.
They understand what motivates most people. Most people want things FFE (fast, free, and easy) because most people are lazy.
Even though they are lazy, most people are honest…and honest people are easier to target because they expect everyone else to be honest and don’t know how to think like a crook.
So, are ALL internet businesses scams or con jobs? No!
Most established businesses have websites and do transactions on the internet.
But what about the home-based business industry?
There are a very few honest programs buried amid all the scams and con jobs that flood the market. They all have one thing in common though:
If you want to make money with them you have make some honest effort.
Remember, EFFORT gives money its VALUE.
To EARN money honestly you must provide goods or services that other people need or want, and are willing to pay you for.
As I’ve said before, the marketplace is full of PEOPLE.
People will do business with You if they Know You, Like You, and Trust You.
How do You build KNOW, LIKE and TRUST with people?
A great place to start is by reading “Success in Ten Steps” by Michael Dlouhy.
My garden and Your network marketing career
Posted on June 26th, 2009 in Recent Posts by Sarah Thompson
Sarah here in Sunny Florida,
I just finished weeding the garden and thought I would drop You a quick note, as I was pulling up weeds that kept choking my plants I was reminded of my old MLM companies .
My Mentors - Michael Dlouhy & Art Jonak
Back in the day , before I knew what a 5 pillar company was supposed to look like. Art Jonak, one of my mentors, defines it as “A place where Average people, create above Average results”.
Bad MLM’s  spread and grow -  they actually
flourish. Just like the weeds in my garden.
They live on the fertilizer, not   because I planted them, however they are    there  just the same  choking my good plants
They never mature into an edible plant. Sort of reminds of at least a dozen of the companies I joined in my early EFFORTS at Network marketing.I did as I was told,
- bought leads
- called 100 a day (never got a yes)
- did presentations
- exhausted my warm market
- lost my family and friends
- maxed my credit cards
And yup almost got divorced over this stuff.
Today – my business is thriving like a well weededand fertilized garden, no weeds in sight
How did I do this ? Easier than you might believe,I read a book – simple huh ? and it was given to me,
at what price ??
Zero and you can have a copy my gift to you.
Click on the book in the upper left corner of thissite, read the book and one of our Mentors will call.
This book will teach you how to kill the weeds in your MLM business one ugly weed at time.
The Truth About the Internet
Why do millions of people fail to prosper in home-based businesses, while only a relative handful succeed? Because they don’t understand the internet…or world wide web.
Because people are naturally lazy, and they would love to earn money by doing the least work possible, they believe it when so-called “gurus” tell them they can find easy riches on the internet. The “gurus” make big money feeding on this fantasy, telling people what the “gurus” know they want to hear: that they can make lots of money doing next to nothing. People willingly pay the “gurus” for their “secrets” over and over again.
The internet is not a shortcut, dodge, or cheat. It is simply another medium for doing business - another marketplace.
What do I mean by “medium”? A marketplace is somewhere the market (people) gather to transact business.
You can do business on a table on the sidewalk, in a tent, in a brick and mortar storefront, in a skyscraper, on the telephone, through the mail, etc. These are all media. The internet is just one more.
The principles of doing business are the same, regardless of the medium. People are still people, not digital data.
There are two ways to make money: you can steal or cheat people, or you can sell people goods or services that they need or want and are willing to pay for. People are happy to buy from people whom they know, like and trust.
Thieves and cheaters love the internet because it is not regulated the way street commerce, telephones, and the mail are. They can hide behind false photos, addresses, emails and phone numbers…and do this from anywhere in the world…and do it over and over again.
Honest and legitimate businesses can operate on the internet the same way they operate in other media…but, again, the internet is not a shortcut. Success in legitimate business is not measured in days and weeks, but in months and years.
The internet does offer some advantages to a legitimate business: overhead expenses are low and many goods and services can be delivered digitally without shipping time and expense (think about e-books, music, video, etc.)
Home-based business owners have the same needs and responsibilities that any business owners have: they must be organized, keep good records, and provide customer service and support. They also need to learn how to do these things and how to think like a business owner.
Fortunately, the internet makes all this convenient and affordable for the home-based owner if they can find the right resources and learn the necessary skills.
The book, Success in Ten Steps, by Michael Dlouhy is a good place to start.
Mental Cleanse Chapter 1 - Thoughts Are Things
Hi! Ken Klemm here…
I want to share with you this timely lesson I learned from reading Chapter 1 of “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. Every Wednesday, as part of Mentoring For FREE, our Mastermind group meets to share and discuss our thoughts after reading a chapter of the book.
CHAPTER 1 - INTRODUCTION
Thoughts Are Things
I’m launching my sixth round through this book today,
studying and growing with this Mastermind. Self-
development is a never-ending process, critical to my
growth.
GROWTH? At my age?
A mind, like a body, is never static. It grows or
decays. I CHOOSE GROWTH.
I’ve learned to keep the entire book in mind as I study
each chapter - all chapters are parts of the whole
philosophy.
Dr. Hill admonishes us to read through his book at
least twice - and recommends doing it with a Study
Group.
The first and last chapters of TGR function as
bookends, they connect to each other and bring the
entire philosophy full-circle.
After spending more than two weeks studying FEAR with
Chapter 15, I see the stories in Chapter 1 are about
folks who overcame and eradicated all Fear.
Barnes, with no funds, train-hitched to Orange, NJ to
seek a partnership with Edison.
Barnes succeeded because he was driven by a BURNING
DESIRE to ACHIEVE his DEFINITE PURPOSE. He had no room
in his mind for Fear, even though he had no
step-by-step plan at the beginning of his sojourn.
He began his amazing adventure with a single THOUGHT,
and took ACTION along a chain of events which brought
him to his goal.
The small girl conquered Darby’s uncle because he could
sense NO FEAR from her, his attempts at intimidation
had NO EFFECT on her - so DETERMINED was she to get
what she came for - her DEFINITE PURPOSE for the
encounter.
AM I THREE FEET FROM GOLD?
What if I’m two feet, or four, or five? Whatever…
The most powerful lesson in this chapter jumped out at
me this time through:
I’m referring to the story, where the Darby’s stopped
drilling in their mine just three feet short of a major
gold vein after the vein they first discovered dried
up.
The junk man they sold their mining equipment to hired
a mining engineer to examine the mine. The engineer
predicted where the major vein would be.
The Darby’s lost out because they had insufficient
knowledge of geology and DID NOT SEEK THE ADVICE OF AN
EXPERT!
Here, at Mentoring For Free, I have access to an
overwhelming abundance of experts.
Not just the more than eleven hours of live conference
calls each week, and the millions of dollars worth of
tools and archives on the free websites…
But, also personal, one-on-one advice and coaching is
only a phone call or email away.
The MENTORING is free, but that’s all. The rest
requires my investment of time and EFFORT to master the
skills and put them to practical application.
There is no reason to ever stop - no matter how close
or far away I am from the gold!
Your Friend and Servant,
Ken Klemm
The Mayonnaise Jar
Posted on June 23rd, 2009 in Recent Posts by Sarah Thompson
When things in your life seem,  Almost too much to handle,
When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar  and 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class
And had some  items in  front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
And proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students, If the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar.   He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.
He then asked  The students again
If the jar was full..   They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand
And poured it into the jar.  Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded
With an unanimous ‘yes.’
The professor then produced  Two cups of coffee from under the table
And poured the entire contents  Into the jar, effectively
Filling the Empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.
‘Now,’ said the professor,   As the laughter subsided,
‘I want you to recognize that  This jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - family,
children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions –
Things that if everything else was lost
And only they remained, Your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter Like your
job, house, and car.
The sand is everything else –
The small stuff.
‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’  He continued,
‘there is no room for  The pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.
If you spend all your time And energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for  The things that are
Important to you.
So…
Pay attention to the things  That are critical to your happiness.
Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups..
Take your partner out to dinner.
There will always be time
To clean the house and fix the disposal.
‘Take care of the golf balls first –
The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.’
One of the students raised her hand
And inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled.
‘I’m glad you asked’.
It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life  may seem,
there’s always room for A couple of cups of coffee with  a friend.’
Critical Thinking, What Is It?
Posted on June 20th, 2009 in Self Development, Skills Training, Recent Posts by Sarah Thompson
Whether You consider Yourself average or above average, the fact is
most of us believe that we are  Coachable and critical thinkers .  If
the truth be told, 99 percent of us are neither.
When we encounter an issue that captures our attention, we call it a
problem.  Believing we are critical thinkers, we examine it;  and if
we have a “program loop” in our mind, something  that we’ve heard or
used in the past for a similar  situation,  we apply it.  Never for a
moment does it occur to us to think about the Law of unintended
consequences.
Critical thinkers are fully aware of the Law of unintended consequences.
Wondering what is “The Law Of Unintended consequences?
The Law of Unintended consequences simply means that every action has
an equal and opposite reaction.  Look at this loosely as a “positive”
and a “negative” result from every action  we initiate.  A segment of
each reaction will fulfill the intended consequence.  The balance will
ALWAYS result in an unintended consequence.
Critical thinking identifies and minimizes the  impact of the
unintended consequences.
I like to use Rubik’s cube as an example of how to apply critical
thinking to an issue.  Notice I said “issue.”  Once we term or label the situation as a problem, we’ve lost the ability to apply critical thinking to that issue.
Now, just like Rubik’s cube, we have to look at an issue from all
six sides.   We then need to back off and determine what would happen
if we twist it to the right.  Does an unexpected or unwanted result occur on the opposite side?
To apply Critical Thinking we have to examine an issue. This means
BEFORE we set ourselves to action we have to run through a series of
“what ifs;” scenarios of the consequences of our actions.
For example, what will happen on all six sides of an issue if I move
in this direction or that direction?
What happens if I make no movement at all?
Do any of the scenarios I’ve contemplated move me closer to my
vision of the life I want to have?  Just as important, does this
support my core values or does it move me off the path of personal
integrity?
Learning the skill of applied critical thinking virtually eliminates
negative happenings in our life.
Begin the process now; learn to develop Your Critical Thinking habits with this book
Who’s Picking Up What Your Putting Down? Is Your Business Duplicatable?
Posted on June 15th, 2009 in Personal Development, Recent Posts by Laurie
Often on mentoring calls some of the biggest problems I hear people are having in their Network Marketing business is acquiring leads or duplicating their Up-line’s success. I cringe hearing the amounts of money and time spent in trying to get a client or prospect to contact them. There is frustration, anxiety and a loss of confidence in duplicating the system they bought into.
It’s a familiar story.
You bought into a business, maybe received a back office, auto-responder, even scripts to speak to new clients. Most importantly You have “can’t live without” information or a product that “rocks,” You can now offer to others.
You are told if You follow the steps exactly as given You will find success.
Some major ingredient is either missing or picked out of the recipe.  I know the up-line has all the ingredients because they tell the new distributor how successful they are, but experience tells me they didn’t “put down” or include some important elements in order to duplicate their success.  What was put down was alluring, intriguing, and believable enough to make You pick it up, sign up and pay up.
Remember the Hansel and Gretel story where the children are lured into the dark scary forest then abandoned so their stepmother wouldn’t starve?  In a spurt of creativity, the children lay down stone pebbles in order to find their way back out of the forest.  They do find their way back even though the stone pebbles were missing.  Alas, once again they are lured into the forest, this time they used bread crumbs to find their way back. The greedy stepmother picked up the stone pebbles and birds and forest animals the bread crumbs they put down.
They became lost in that forest, as intended, then found an enticing house made of wonderfully edible candy and such.  A seemingly harmless old woman beckons them into the house. Before they are aware of their mistake, they are caught and trapped in a cage by this witch.
She intends to eat them alive! (Some thought the stepmother and the witch were the same person). This recipe all spells disaster for our heroes!
If this reminds You of Your home-based business, there is hope.  As Hansel and Gretel were able to change their fate by escaping the witch and her evil intentions, so can You.  Pick up This Ebook I’m putting down.  You can duplicate Yourself through education and learn how to recognize a winning recipe!
How do You like Your eggs ???
Posted on June 11th, 2009 in Self Development, Recent Posts by Laurie
What does Your Network Marketing Business and eggs have to do with each other?
I ordered breakfast out with my friend today and decided on the same dish I habitually
order, The “Skillet,” an amazing mishmash of meats, potatoes, cheeses and eggs on top.
My friend had chosen the same only when the waitress asked how we wanted our eggs,
I wanted mine “sunny-side up,” and she wanted hers “scrambled.”
I was reminded of the movie I’d seen, “The Runaway Bride,” in which Julia Roberts
portrays a lady who has made it to the alter several times but tends to run away
each and every time the moment of commitment arrives.
Enter Richard Gere, a reporter who has heard of this phenomena of Julia’s and goes
to investigate.  Richard soon discovers by following Julia around and in speaking with
all her past would-be husbands a flaw I think many can identify with.  She doesn’t
know How she likes her eggs!   Julia favored her eggs the same as each and every
fiancée she engaged herself to.
So What?
Well, consider this, if your business is “fried, done over or scrambled” something
is wrong.  If you continue to pay for the same dish your told to order,  and it’s still
fried, done over or scrambled it should indicate that maybe, just maybe you may
have to consider this doesn’t work for you.
Rethinking the way your conducting your business, is called critical thinking,
Learn  How to think instead of What to think.
When Richard pointed out to Julia that she was letting everyone else do the
thinking for her
She got it. !
She knew something was wrong in all of her relationships and therefore couldn’t
commit!  She stepped back and really considered what She desired, and how she
really liked her eggs.  She educated herself and finally began to think for herself.
So, how do you like your eggs?  Want to figure this one out, get yourself educated
by starting with this ebook, for free.
