Mental Cleanse Chapter 6 - IMAGINATION

Hi! Ken Klemm here…

I want to share with you this timely lesson I learned from reading Chapter 6 - IMAGINATION-  of “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. Every Wednesday, as part of Mentoring For FREE, our Mastermind group meets to share and discuss our thoughts after reading a chapter of the book.

~~~~~
Chapter 6 - IMAGINATION
The Workshop Of The Mind
Goosebumps and tears…CREATIVE Imagination.
Synthesis is forming new stuff from existing stuff.
Creation is making new original stuff which never
before existed.
God created the universe from pure energy. His Thoughts
became the Word, and the Word became Reality.
I am made in the Likeness of God, and therefore have
the ability to Create.
A story about goose bumps and tears…
My friend Jim and I spent three years working on a
project, an album of his songs which told a story about
a man and his bike on the road in North America,
seeking to find “America” and himself.
We produced, engineered, arranged the music and played
most of the instruments and vocals. A major exercise in
Creative Imagination and Mastermind brainstorming.
It wasn’t always harmonious - sometimes we argued,
especially when mixing down all the tracks into two
stereo tracks. I chuckle at the memory when I hear
“Wasted Youth” by Meatloaf, with the chorus,
“Everything Louder than Everything Else.”
I composed an instrumental overture in my mind based on
Jim’s themes, wrote out a chart of the arrangement,
then went to work in the studio.
First I played and recorded the drum tracks, then added
the bass guitar. Next I had Jim record the acoustic
rhythm guitar chart I wrote out. Then I added the
acoustic piano, all the synthesized strings, woodwinds
and brass, and finally percussion.
When I was done, Jim asked if he could add an electric
lead guitar track over one section of the piece. We
did, and it was a perfect addition. The manifestation
of my Creative Imagination inspired HIS.
But the Epilogue is the REAL story. The last song of
the album was a climatic finish - where the lead
character in the story finds his home, tragically
perishes there in an accident, is buried, and the
legacy of his spirit lives on in the powerful and
dramatic ending.
I imagined an instrumental reflection to follow the
climax - somber, and deeply emotional. As I listened to
it in my mind - the music slowly building to a
thunderous climax, then settling back to a soft,
contemplative fade - I got goose bumps and tears.
Late one night, alone in the studio, I went to work on
my Epilogue - based on the weaving together of two of
Jim’s themes.
No drum track to set the foundation and pace, I
recorded the strings free-style with the full
arrangement playing in my mind - goose bumps and tears
again.
I laid down track after track, even the lead guitars -
my synthesizers could imitate anything. Then I mixed it
all down and played it for Jim.
I don’t know if he had the goose bumps and tears - I
wasn’t watching - but he was excited about including it
at the end of the album.
After we finished the project, we played the
compilation for some of our closest friends before we
took it to the mastering studio.
I watched this time. While listening to the Epilogue,
Jim’s mom and several others has goose bumps on their
arms and tears streaming down their cheeks.
YES!!! I didn’t care if we never made a dime from the
project - I was paid in full. I knew many listeners
would have the same reaction. Job well done, good and
faithful servant!
A few weeks ago, I had goose bumps on my arms and watery
eyes as I said to a new client, with a slight break in
my voice, “Robin…..it’s not Your fault.”
Silence on the other end. Then I could hear soft
sniffling sounds. Goosebumps and tears transmitted
across the phone lines!
Recently on a Team call, a lady deep down in my group
(I have never met or spoken to her sponsor directly)
gave a testimonial about what my company’s products had
done for her and changed her life.
Goosebumps and tears around the world, I think. My
mentor was so moved he was rendered speechless -
Michael Dlouhy, SPEECHLESS! He had to leave the call
for a bit to collect himself.
The president of my company wrote me with some tips on
how to present the testimonial with greater impact.
Goosebumps and tears - this time via duplication.
Perhaps the start of a LEGACY of them.
Goosebumps and tears - these are what move me and
motivate me.
Goosebumps and tears - and that, my friends, it the
core of my WHY.
Thank You Michael and Linda and all my Friends for
showing me the way and Your inspiration — and thank
You, Sarah Anne, for helping me dig deep.
Your Friend Always,
Ken Klemm
Second Chances to Own Your Life
Posted on July 29th, 2009 in Self Development, Personal Development, Recent Posts by Laurie
I invited a young person into my home yesterday to visit my daughter.  Based upon a few choices this person had made in the past, my family put up a strong resistance in my allowing this person into our home.
What would life be like if we never allowed ourselves a second chance? Wouldn’t that mean a life without Love, Faith, Hope, or Grace?  Where are the emotions of forgiveness, compassion, understanding in such a black and white thought?
Taking a phrase from The Sense of Wonder by Rachel Carson, “There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature - the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after the winter.”
I believe in second chances; third, fourth and fifth if necessary, to “get it right.”  How can one argue with nature?  We are a part of nature, we live in and are “spiritual beings having a human experience.”
Where would we be without failing forward?  To judge yourself on your past failings is to live in a world void of life; even in the sandy dunes of the desert life exists, it finds a way.
Have you ever made a mistake?  Did you learn from it, grow from it, choose a different path?  Is that not the nature of life to experience it, assured that dawn does come after night, spring does arrive after winter?
I have made mistakes in building my dreams, but with love, faith, hope and by the Grace of God, I’ve forgiven my imperfections, received compassion and understanding from others and continue to grow each and every day.  Thank God for the human spirit that allows me to move forward in an imperfect world.
Want a second chance in reaching your dreams, your goals, the desire to be yourself?  Begin here.
One Point For The Mail Box
Posted on July 27th, 2009 in Self Development, Recent Posts by Laurie
Fourteen years ago we moved from a city-suburb atmosphere to the country.  Unaccustomed to the challenges, I came to accept we needed 4-wheel drive, 55 mph IS the speed limit in front of my house, a snow plow and quad are necessary items and The Mail Box is not necessarily a permanent fixture.
The winter snow can leave us stranded until the County Snow Plows make their way out to us. For several years in a row the operator of the road plow clocked our mail box and sent it flying.  Once, my husband, so exasperated bellowed out, “Could you at least pick it up and return it to the general vicinity?”
Afterward, he determined to make an invincible mail box that wasn’t going to shatter when the plow hits it.  Being a talented and artistic welder I eagerly awaited my new mail box. I couldn’t wait to see what he would come up with.
He made the ugliest utilitarian black box I ever had the misfortune to gaze upon.
I hated it.
I couldn’t believe in all the years of watching him make the most beautiful gifts for family and friends, I get this black box. For years I’ve directed guests to my home to look for the ugliest black mailbox stuck on a thick round post and you’ll find me.
This weekend, for my birthday, my husband totally handcrafted the loveliest mailbox I could ever have dreamed.  My daughters pitched in with the painting of this multi-vine creation complete with a bird, butterfly and a caterpillar holding a red flag to alert the mailman I have mail to send. I couldn’t be more pleased.
I think of a conversation a friend had with Tom “Big Al” Schreiter.  Tom told him it didn’t matter if you bought your wife a bouquet of flowers or a house, you get ONE Point.  For each and every effort you do for another, no matter how large or small, you really only get One Point.  The trick is to keep filling up your “bowl” with enough points so when you fall short and a point is taken away, you still have enough points in the bowl to redeem yourself.
I give my husband One Point for the mailbox but it makes me think of all the efforts I’ve done in reaching out to help others.
I’m reminded you can’t stop just because you scored One Point; You do a good deed, contribute once to a charity of your choosing, put a donation in at the food pantry during a seasonal campaign, help a person one day in their business and because it was well received and you got One Point, what happens the next day?
A good leader will continually strive to earn One Point as often as possible.  It’s ok to fall short or make a mistake because your making a conscious effort to fill your bowl.
Every day we have a chance to make One Point with someone.  We can make a difference when we reach out, offer our expertise to someone who needs us, listen to someone who needs us to listen, mentor someone who reaches out for help.
Today I Encourage You to begin  the process and fill Your Bowl, One Point at a time; I can Help.  Start here and this Ebook will point the way.
Why Critical Thinking - A Story For You
Critical Thinkers – A Story for You
I love this story, although I embellish in my own way because that’s what I do, but read this and let me know what you think.
A young newlywed is eager to have her new friends over for dinner. Carefully she prepares the roast she purchased as she had been taught. She cuts off the end of the roast first before adding the special blend of herbs and spices. In eager anticipation, she puts the final touches on her table pleased with her careful preparations.
Upon arriving, her guests exclaimed their appreciation over the mouth-watering aromas emanating from the kitchen. Proudly, the young newlywed brought the meal out and generously served her guests. They so enjoyed the meal that one young friend leaned over to ask her secret in making such a delicious roast. Pleased to be asked, the young women carefully explains how to prepare the roast, making sure her guest understands to cut the end of the roast off first before applying the herbs and spices.
Why?” asks her friend.
Startled, the young women replied, “Well, that’s how to prepare it.”
“Yes, but why? Why do I have to cut the end of the roast off?”
The young woman wasn’t sure exactly why this was so important and couldn’t answer. The following day, she called her mother and asked that same question. Unfortunately her mother was just as uncertain as she was.
Together, they decided to ask the Grandmother. When they put the question to the Grandmother she didn’t have the answer either. The Grandmother decided the only one to answer that was her Mother and so all three headed over to Great-Grandmothers home to find an answer to this perplexing question.
When they arrived, the Great-Grandmother was pleasantly surprised by the unexpected visitors. She invited them all to sit and enjoy a glass of sweet lemonade.
Once gathered around the table, the Grandmother asked the question that had the three women thoroughly perplexed;
“Mom,” began the Grandmother, “you know your famous roast recipe that we all love to make, we were wondering Why You always cut off the end of the roast first before doing anything else?”
Great-Grandmother shrugged and replied, “Because the roast was always too big and it wouldn’t fit in my pan.”
Raising my children, I was often asked “Why?” They would not hesitate to ask and I encouraged them, too, in order to help them process information, formulate their own thoughts and opinions and grow.
When did You stop asking “Why?”   Ready to Free Yourself and own Your thoughts?  Want to Know How to Think and not What to Think? Download our FREE ebook and get Your Why answered, today!
Attributes of a Critical Thinker - Pertinent Questions
Posted on July 21st, 2009 in Critical Thiking, Personal Development, Recent Posts by Laurie
Attributes of a Critical Thinker
Do You ever ask “pertinent” questions? One attribute of critical thinking is to ask pertinent questions.
Raising teenagers I certainly feel it critical to ask, “Who, What, When, Where, and sometimes Why?”  With the information given, sometimes sketchy at best, I automatically apply all the scenarios or possibilities that may occur should I agree to my teens request.  I will conclude and permit what I deem the best plan of action with the least amount of negative reaction.  This provides an enjoyable experience for all concerned; I get a peace of mind, they get a bit more freedom to live, experience life and grow.
Through experience, I know I can’t always count on every reaction, nor can I count on my teen following through with the agreed upon plan and not changing the scenario half way out the door.
Upon contemplation, I wonder if I’ve used this critical analysis when considering action in my own life.  Did I, for instance, ask “pertinent” questions when I jumped into my first home business?
Since I wasn’t all that successful, I can only conclude I didn’t.
How is it that I can think something through thoroughly in respect to a loved one, taking much care to achieve the best possible reactions or outcome, but I did not apply that same critical thought process to something as important as my livelihood?
Is it easier to think through an action critically for someone else rather than Yourself?  I didn’t often think much about reaction in making a decision for myself.  If it seems to fit at the time, then go with it.
So many variables are involved in thinking out an action critically, the question here is, is it worth the effort?
To what extent or effort Do You ask “pertinent” questions on Your own behalf?  Are You asking the “RIGHT” questions?
In Your current activity, what questions are You asking now?  Do You go beyond the typical Who, What, When, Where and How Much?  Is it TIME?  Are You ready to start asking the right questions?  For the best possible outcome, start by critically educating yourself with this Free ebook.
Mental Cleanse CHAPTER 4 - AUTO-SUGGESTION
Hi! Ken Klemm here…
I want to share with you this timely lesson I learned from reading Chapter 4- AUTO-SUGGESTION -  of “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. Every Wednesday, as part of Mentoring For FREE, our Mastermind group meets to share and discuss our thoughts after reading a chapter of the book.
~~~~~

CHAPTER 4 - AUTO-SUGGESTION
The Medium For Influencing The Subconscious Mind

Alright, my Subconscious Mind is a powerful machine. It
handles all my autonomic functions, makes my decisions
for me long before I realize it, and leads me around by
the nose into whatever circumstances it sets up for me.

Powerful as it is, it is as dumb as a box of rocks. It
is easily influenced by ages of genetic programming,
years of environmental programming, and by those
skilled in manipulating those programs.

The manipulators and the merchants of FEAR are schooled
in their craft. How do I compete?

My Subconscious acts on MY DOMINANT THOUGHTS. I
control the gateway of my CONSCIOUS MIND, which -
fortunately - can only hold one thought at a time.

So many conflicting thoughts! Which of the many
stimulants bombarding my brain daily shall I give power
to?

Dread over the future of the economy? Worry over what
things idiot politicians will propose next? Junk going
on in my family?

Or maybe the thrill of building a coalition of
like-minded team members who will - through education,
friendship and teamwork - lead the way to worldwide
prosperity? Living where I want, with whom I want?

Hmmmm… Let’s see… What do I want to think about?

There is no way to stop the bombardment of input
reaching my brain through my SIX senses. I can control
SOME sources of input, but not all. I have very limited
control over the thoughts of others.

But my conscious mind can CHOOSE which thoughts to give
POWER to and deliver them - super-charged, special
delivery - to my subconscious. I CHOOSE to ignore the
mental puke and garbage.

SELF-TALK - written, read, and spoken as often as
possible - combined with the emotions of DESIRE and
FAITH is AUTO-SUGGESTION - my CHOSEN programming for
my subconscious mind.

The Magic of Writing Stuff Down: Whatever I put on
paper with my own hand reaches my brain via many
channels - visual, auditory, verbal and tactile!

Auto-suggestion is what I must rely on when I venture
out away from the fire. I cannot be on a conference
call with my friends or listen to recorded audios 24/7
- there would be no action!

Self-talk, when charged with emotion, also acts as
prayer, transmitted to the Infinite Intelligence of my
God of the Universe. I must be careful what I pray for!

Dr. Hill tells me I must PERSIST in this practice, with
FAITH like a small child’s.

Self-talk is the first step in my thoughts becoming
words, then actions, then habits - ultimately
developing my character and my destiny.

My prayer, my self-talk: I am happy, content and
grateful building the largest, most wonderful team in
the history of network marketing, confidently and
consistently through education, friendship and
teamwork, for the mutual benefit of all concerned!

It is a constant battle, conflicting thoughts
struggling for DOMINANCE. But, with the help of God and
my Team, I am winning!

I am in control. I OWN My life!

Your Friend and Servant,
Ken Klemm

The Truth About Buying Leads

Hi, Ken Klemm here.

How much are you paying per lead for leads? Are they “exclusive”? Are they super-duper, high-priced, telephone verified, surveyed leads? Have you ever wondered how the lead vendors acquire these leads?

Perhaps you’ve visited a website because you were responding to an offer for a free meal at one of your favorite restaurants, or an opportunity to get a free computer, big screen TV, or some other deal? You are required to fill out a form on the page to begin the process. If you fill in information and click on a submit or continue link - some entity has just collected you as a lead.

If Your phone rings and You answer it, but there is no one on the line - then You are probably now a telephone verified lead!

Maybe you were taken to another page and asked to answer questions such as, “Are you interested in making money from home?” You may be asked for more input such as how much you want to earn per month, how much you are willing to invest, how many hours you are willing to spend per week, etc. If you answer these questions and submit the form, you are now a surveyed lead!

Even if you quit at some point, the information you submitted has already been collected. If someone phones you and asks you if you visited their site and were truthful about the information you submitted, you are now a telephone verified surveyed lead!

Soon you begin to receive phone calls from different people pitching you on their business opportunities. Your lead has been sold!

Do you wonder how many of those people calling you were told your lead was exclusive? Do you wonder how much they paid for your lead? Ask them!

Are you beginning to get an idea of just how worthless purchased leads are?

I’ve just described one example of how leads are generated. There are many others. Many affiliate programs, MLM companies and others will sell their leads when they need more money. It doesn’t matter if they told you they would not sell or share your information - they can change their minds at any time!

Why purchase worthless leads when you can generate your own targeted leads for little or no cost?

To learn how to do this and learn more things that will save you years of failure and frustration, download your free copy of Michael Dlouhy’s “Success In Ten Steps” by clicking on the book in the upper left corner of this page.

Mental Cleanse Chapter 3 - FAITH

Hi! Ken Klemm here…

I want to share with you this timely lesson I learned from reading Chapter 3 - FAITH -  of “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. Every Wednesday, as part of Mentoring For FREE, our Mastermind group meets to share and discuss our thoughts after reading a chapter of the book.

~~~~~
CHAPTER 3 - FAITH
Visualization Of And Belief In Attainment Of Desire
FAITH is the SUBSTANCE of things EXPECTED, the EVIDENCE
of things NOT SEEN.
To VISUALIZE means to form a mental image, colored with
all five senses.
FAITH is an elixir, when blended with the vibration of
thought, the subconscious mind translates the thought
into its SPIRITUAL equivalent and transmits it to
Infinite Higher Intelligence - as in PRAYER.
HOPE is the EXPECTANCY which establishes positive
emotion and corresponding action. The Law of Belief
states: “What a person believes in their heart with
conviction becomes their reality.”
“Be careful what you pray for.” When folks BELIEVE they
are doomed, and the conviction is mixed with the
emotion of FEAR, automatic “prayers” are generated to
bring about the EXPECTED reality of poverty and misery.
A great propagandist of the 20th century said if You
repeat a lie often enough, people will BELIEVE it to be
TRUE.
Millions of people are starving for leaders to show the
way out of this cycle of doom and gloom. They are not
finding those leaders in Washington, D.C. or anywhere
else.
The timing is PERFECT for our industry with Mentoring
For Free leading the way like a bright shining beacon
of TRUTH and HOPE.
Michael Dlouhy is a VISIONARY who seeks to raise the
industry of Network Marketing up to what it could and
SHOULD be.
I share his VISION of shifting the paradigm of our
culture back on the course charted by such leaders as
Samuel Adams, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin
Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, and Ronald
Reagan.
A culture of rugged independence, where INDIVIDUALS,
not institutions, can achieve whatever they CHOOSE to
accomplish.
Michael and Linda attracted a rag-tag group of folks
who had been burnt-out, chewed-up, spit-out - and
transformed them, by lending them their BELIEF and
HOPE, into the most dynamic team of leaders this
industry has ever known.
It reminds me of the poem by Emma Lazarus, inspired by
the arrival of “Liberty Enlightening The World”,
a.k.a. The Statue of Liberty:
THE NEW COLOSSUS
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land,
Here at our sea-washed, sunset- gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome, her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin-cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she,
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore;
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
With enduring FAITH,
How Long To Grow a Chinese Bamboo?
To grow a Chinese Bamboo You REALLY must have a strong
DESIRE to see it through.
You need the right climate and the right soil.
You prepare the soil and plant the seed.
Then You must water the soil every day and fertilize
the soil periodically.
Water EVERY day.
You see NO results for a full year - yet You must
continue watering EVERY day.
Two years, nothing - keep watering.
Three years, four years - nothing.
Keep watering EVERY day.
In year five, a little sprout pops up out of the soil.
Keep watering daily.
Then, in five WEEKS, the bamboo tree grows to about 90
feet!
My question to You is:
How long did the bamboo take to reach 90 feet? Five
weeks?
Or five years?
